These gorgeous men were originally scheduled for a couples session, when Zach text me saying he had proposed to Andy, and would I capture elopement portraits instead? The answer was, of course, a resounding YES! I stopped photographing traditional weddings three years ago, and ever since then people tend to assume I no longer shoot elopements, either. Not the case! I still happily except elopement assignments and absolutely ADORE them.
I met Zach, Andy, their pup, and two friends from out of state, bright and early on a Monday morning at Latourell Falls, in the beautiful Oregon Columbia River Gorge. They had never been before, and I was thrilled to show them this amazing place, the perfect start their first day together as husband and husband! It was cold, and wet, but they didn’t even hesitate and were such troopers when I asked them to stand scary close to the freezing, pounding water. I’m so glad they were up for it because these photos are ridiculous. I love these guys and the way these images bring out their tenderness, sense of humor, beauty, and fearlessness all in one. Congratulations Zach and Andy! I wish you both all of the joy, love, and endless adventure this world has to offer.
